Pacifica

Today we took a family trip to Pacifica which is a coastal city about an hour's drive from San Jose. It was a beautiful drive over though foggy in some areas on Highway 1.

We went to Linda Mar Beach, a popular destination for surfers and families.

From the second we stepped on the beach, Alex was super excited about the Pacific Ocean. So much so that he wouldn't even pose with me for a photo.

We rolled up our trousers and explored the wet sand. Squishy.

Going for a walk and passing some very focused looking surfers

I 'let' Daddy take him to see the waves.

Okay fine, MADE Daddy take him to see the waves. The water was to cold for my little tootsies.

Alex exhausted us after about 10 minutes since he wanted to constantly run into the ocean. I admire his curiosity but was also quite terrified of him being swept away.

After wrestling him away from the waves and getting over the tantrum (which included falling on his butt several times and getting covered in sand) we decided to go explore the other side of the beach

We usually drag Grandma and Grandpa along so Matt and I can abandon him and go do our own thing. Awful parents, I know!

Pulling an interesting face here. Eyebrow raising remind me of Grandad Bob back in England.

Grandpa pouring sand on Alex's foot. Because you know, that's what Grandpas do.

Matt and I revisited a favorite pastime and got some beach frisbee time.

Look at this incredible throw

Oh and that form! He wasn't the coach of the ultimate frisbee team at university for nothing.

You can almost get a glimpse of the 'sandprint' on Matt's face. Also part of Alex's not wanting to leave the beach plea.

The building behind me is possibly one of the nicest Taco Bells ever, sitting right on the beach front. We opted for healthier since Matt and I are annoying point counters (weight watchers) and got a sandwich and light coffee.

All in all, a pretty relaxing day. Just what the family needed!
