Looking for the iPad2 in Los Gatos

With Matt and I being in sales it's unpredictable knowing which months will be great months and which months will be stellar months. For Matt, May was a super stellar month at work. He closed a huge amount of business and got an iPad2 as the monthly prize.

So we thought we'd try to find one locally to see if we could speed up the process. We went to the Apple stores in SJ and tried a few others but no one seemed to carry the specific model we wanted.

On Saturday we decided to check out the Apple store in Los Gatos to see if they had it. We could have called but figured it was a good excuse to take a trip out anyway. Sometimes it seems like our weekends are filled with chores, errands and basic catch up. It's nice to shove all that aside and have some family fun sometimes.

So off to Los Gatos we went.

We were running a bit low on fuel so we decided to fill our Alex up to ensure a smooth journey.

Matt decided to be adventurous and take a back road. Much better than the traffic filled freeway.

There were some beautiful estates along the way, about $10-15 million dollars at least. It's normal to drive 2 miles an hour and gawk right? We're totally not stalkers.

"Are we there yet? Mom, let me have your iPhone so I can check Google maps."

We found a great parking spot right in front of the Apple Store but were dumb enough to go the wrong way until realizing if we had just looked up like normal people we would have found it right away. Still it was nice to walk past the other stores and window shop.

Here's Alex's "I told you so" face.

Let's Roll!

Unfortunately the Los Gatos Apple store also didn't have the right iPad2 in stock so back to the original plan of ordering it online. We managed to stop into a couple of other stores and Matt even bought a few vintage maps from an antique shop.

Our parking spot was great in getting in but not so much when trying to leave. We got blocked in by an ambulance and fire truck and had to wait for them.

Like most things, this was just another exciting moment for Alex. He loved watching all the action.

It was a short trip but fun nonetheless.
